It will certainly clean cuts etc, it bleach, but as with antiseptics such as hibby scrib, iodine etc must question if they would be more effective than saline? Healing needs protecting surviving tissue rather then " burning" it off.

A clean wound will heal better than a dirty one so cleaning with most things will help.

it is just some thing that realy does a good job i had a good dog that used to catch a lot of fox and it done a excelent job of stoping infections and so the bites heald quick .you could prob compare it with the use of maggots on a open wound they eat away the dead and infected tissue so the wound is clean and the healing excelerates

Hydrogen Peroxide is great for flushing deep wounds.

Debrisol is the dogs bollocks, always put it on my dogs when they are hit buy a pig, it will stop an infection dead in its tracks, Chloromide is another one or Terramyacin.

The first 2 products are the best as they are delivered via pump pack, the third is an aerosol and as you propably already know dogs are not real keen on the spray can. The products sting like you wouldn't believe when applied, however they are second to none. The product that Timeout is referring too is more than likely Chloromide, the beauty of Debrisol is that it is clear.

Hope this helps.

Buy a plant, treat it badly (I do all my plants!) Slice off leaf, split down the "seam" of it and squeeze out the juice. It's amazing. I've opened the leaf right out and bandaged it onto wounds - try it, it's incredible. Also, you buy one plant and there's your supply sorted. They take minimal care. Sounds a bit hippy-ish I know, but it works! B)

That is worth knowing - thanks for that foxyjo.

I will go and hack at partner's aloe vera plant that he has lovingly raised from birth!!!! :whistling:

My lurcher goes out every day after rabbits and comes back ripped to shribbens.

and yes, we do have purple spray (called by us "Purple Spray") which we use for sheep/goats/horses. Haven't used it on the dog as I don't want purple sprayed furniture and carpets!
