just wondered...what your thoughts are .

a young dog reaches its top speed ....iam not talking about how it runs ..or how it hunts .....that all comes with practice in the field ...the question is ...when will it get to its fastest ......obviously some certain crosses develop later and some earlier .......your views ...i have my own opinion on this ...but would like to here others views ..... :victory:

depends how much bone the dog has, whippety type dogs seem to get to there maximum speed quite early on where as the heavier types need extra time for muscle to develope to propel there bigger bone mass .greyhound trainers who know there stuff always give the big distance dogs plenty of time, thats my take on it cheers trader :thumbs:

nah, im sure that as with every other trait, each dog will be different. My 6month pup isnt far behind the deerhound now, fast little fecker ;)

he's quick enough for me ;)

 

my pup is colie grey x saluki whippet grey

 

he should be okay for a few runs next season :D

Every lurher is different.

As a genaral rule, racing greys, are kept out in paddocks ect, till their a year old, as after this, they are too fast and can crash into each other, getting broke up.
