liamdelaney 2,586
We have line bred the same line for 30 years with not many failures. I see people for years breeding shite to shite and that is why they have shite. everytime a litter ov pups is on this thread people want to buy them if u have good dogs why would u want to buy pups from strangers.Because ye are the people who did not watch yere breeding lines and put anything on anything .That is why ye have fuckall now. breed your lines very astutely and u will always have them Quote Link to post
mickrick 0
we know that, but with a line already up and running whats the point in adding hound crosses, stafford crosses????? which will produce just more failures! if the old lines are good, you have a higher chance of sucess with entering your dog! if it aint broke dont fix it... Because weak points get bred in aswell as strong points and the careful breeder is aware of this and knows what to do to elimenate the weakness. Quote Link to post

Guest 10/22
STILL AWAITING YOUR REPLY SOUNDER,WHICH IS IT,THE EXCELLANT DOG OF PED UNKNOWN OR THE AVERAGE DOG WITH HISTORY?? DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE QUESTION MATE. Personally i wouldnt use any of the above and would sooner leave my bitch empty, I would want, and expect to be able to trace an excellant dog with history if not somethings gone wrong , more especially with all the noise the working lads make about their dogs. Second best or excuses for using inferior sires certainly dont wash with me. Edited April 14, 2008 by 10/22 Quote Link to post

Guest whitser
pip and some lads are missing my point. im not saying breeding from a line is bad, i know lads that have bred off the same line for years. but what im saying is there is too much emphasis on the name of this line and that. terriers should only be judged on what it does in the ground. i'd breed off a dog of unkown origon once it does its job well underground. ultimately you should judge a dog at his work not who bred him or what line he's off.
