SportingShooter 0
Send them back to the middle ages would be the best thing, then they cant keep stealing all the Lead and making the price of shotgun cartridges and Rifle rounds go up all the damn time. Seriously though, i think a boycott would do very little as the chinese will not change their ways, they are communists after all, there was a headline earlier which said "Torch relay to go well", well it will as oppression and force will be used to ensure it goes well, and the media wont be there to see the bad bits. The chinese need taking down a peg and be told they need to give the Tibetans Human Rights or risk losing all ties with the West, it is the only way, not that it will ever happen, politicians are too weak stomached. The Sporting Agent 0
Yes I think the Olympics should be boycotted. Not just because of China's record with regards Tibet and Darfur, but their entire human rights record which is ongoing. No civilized society aught to opress its people with threats and murder. The Olympics should not have gone to them in the first place; and for me the ethos of Olympiad is tainted by its holding in Beijing. I have nothing against the Chinese people; just their Government. Likewise I do not think it is our (western democracy) place to forcably change the Chinese Government.
Guest WILF
You all talk as if China is a 3rd world country, they have enough resources (and soon money) to feck us six ways from backwards.........this country is a fecking speck of dust compared to China and its population. Its not a question of if we should, its can we afford to.............

Its not a question of if we should, its can we afford to............. In financial terms China is what's classified as an emerging market, which kind of does make it third world WILF my old China *cough* They are having trouble with their resources at the moment actually as their consumption of coal for their power stations is out-stripping their production, which means that they are going to have to introduce staggered power shortages in certain regions. This is why they are buying into companies such as Rio and BHP so that they can secure iron ore deposits rather than have to rely on the coal power stations in order to smelt their own. Mind you, you are right that they have enough money to buy whatever the hell they want. I'm a big fan of the Chinese people and I've had great times there. Shame the government sucks balls
SportingShooter 0
To be honest the only thing i grumble at where the Chinese are concerned is the amount of Lead they are using for cars, batteries etc when they have no cars to use the road, the increase in demand for Lead has made prices of shooting commodities skyrocket, this is a worry and grumble for anyone who clay shoots and who takes part in target shooting with factory ammo. They just seem to be stockpiling all the resources they can and starving the West of them. Just my little grumble. ss06
