i would like to get hold of a border bedlington cross for bushing, (hard to keep the blacks out the ground) does any one have a picture of one of these crosses?

There was an article a few years back in EDRD about Rillington Beddys etc and there was quite a few pic's of Beddy x borders(various combos).Quite nice.The article was by (i think) a John Williams.I think Newcombe was experimenting with the x.

They look like nice little bushing dogs, good length of leg and thick coat.

But you could wait forever for one of them to turn up.

EDRD nos.145 has the john Williams article in a few pic's,also july 2001 has article by Brian harbutt about his old dog Spike,border/beddy.Hope that helps.

I met a bloke last Sunday at the F&MWTC show in Bedlington (ironically) and he approached me and asked me how much would I take as a stud fee to put my Beddy dog over his BorderxBedlington Bitch. I didn't want to make money out of the fella , so agreed a small fee, any way, He lived nearby, and drove home to get the bitch (he said she had broken down) But she wouldnt stand for the dog, and he wasn't overly interested anyway.

She was around 13.5" tts with harsh blue Bedlingtonish coat.

Shame really, as the cross back to Bedlington could have thrown some nice pups.

The fella told me he was the official council warrener for either Northumberland council, or Tyne and Wear.

I think you would have to be careful here, a lot of shit Bedlingtons and Borders around.
