tote 854
The bulk of my lurchers feed is made up with raw rabbit. That Dr Johns is a bag of shite one of the worst complete foods on the market.
Ossie 11
my dad has fed his dogs on dr john for years, or whatever else happens to be really cheap at the petshop. he soaks it (too much in my opinion, it looks like soup!). seems to work though, our housedog is 19 now! i feed my two on Skinners Field & Trial Maintenance, as the littl'un loves it, and it doesn't cost an arm & a leg (money is very tight at the mo'). they also have bones two or 3 times a week, last night i shared a hare out between them & the ferrets, and they pinch carrots off the horses. had them on Autarky for a while, big'un liked it but it gave littl'un the shits something chronic. fed big'un on Healthy Paws rabbit & rice for a while, looked great on it but it's fecking expensive! before that he was having raw, but it was nigh-impossible to keep his weight right. previous to that he had Gilpa Supa-value, but that made him shit slop. he looked great, but it really did his arse no good. Pignut 4
Leftover veg, food, whatever mixed with tin of sardines or pilchards or raw beef mince or cooked lamb from the freezer, whatever is about that needs finishing. Raw egg sometimes too. Pasta, tatties, whatever.

dogs-n-natives 1,182
I have mine on a diet of about half raw meat, either from butchers, waste quality, cheap stuff. Or rabbit/game/livestock aquired by myself. Other half, dry food. Have changed about a bit over the years, have tried Dr Johns and found the dogs did well on it. I have 10 dogs at the mo, costs me about 15 to 18 quid a week max, but much less when theres more rabbit etc.
sandymere 8,263
Good mixed diet same as yourselves, protein, fats & carbs. Cheap and simple dried food base with added veg ( i pref cooked), meat and bones from the butcher few times a week, table scraps etc. Then what they catch in season thats going spare.
