Rolfe 2
Hopefully this is the last days ferreting until next season..........had a good couple of days to clear up an oustanding contract. Weather was glorious and ferreting in amongst a carpet of primroses was the icing on the cake. Only bad point was.....as i sprinted to reach a ferret in a purse net......something "Popped" inside my calf muscle and i am struggling to walk now. Any people out there know what i may have done?........it is bloody sore i know that. Quote Link to post

dytkos 17,784
looks a good day out any young about? and for the leg , just chop it off Hello mate, hamstring is above the knee, at the back of the thigh, basically below your bum. Calf muscle strains or probs usually hurt in the middle of your calf, any lower and it could be tendons or Achilles. I'm no quack but I've had all the feckers. Cheers, D. Quote Link to post

Thanks D, Yes it is deffinately in the middle of the calf muscle and it went with a distinct "pop" i am limping around like a good-un this morning but it will hopefully resolve itself in time. I was just concerned in case it was something serious, but i'll give it a couple of days to see if it eases any........cheers mate. Rolfe. Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
Friend of mine did the same thing: from what I can gather he ripped the tendon from its mooring: where it attaches to the muscle. Can't remember the technical term for this tendon, but it bloody hurts I know: he collapsed on the floor at the time: then went on to walk all day! His calf went black and blue afterwards and the doctor told him to rest it completely: needless to say he didn't, but it still healed OK-ish. Quote Link to post
masmiffy 82
Nice pics mate usually finished before now myself! As for the leg sooner rather than later with the docs if I were you. [advice from my sis an orthopeadic nurse!] Quote Link to post
