onelesscharlie 0
Hi All Just after opinions on what round best suits a tikka t3 lite stainless in .223, the round used at present is remington accutip 50 grn. The barrel has a twist of 1 in 12. Use will be general foxing out to about the 250 yard mark Many thanks for your info Onlesscharlie Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
Does the rifle shoot that bullet accurately, and are you happy enough with the cost of it? If the answer to both is yes, then stick with it. Most of the time, finding a bullet your rifle likes is the hard part. They all kill foxes if you put the bullet in the right place, so accuracy is number 1 priority. If you want to save money, there's Wolf at the really cheap (and it does the job for me) or Prvi for a little bit more, or American Eagle 50gr HP for about the same as Prvi. Quote Link to post

Same as you Dwighet I'm using Moly coated Hornady Vmax 40 grain BT rounds. I'm getting between 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch groups at 100 also, being perfectly honest most are closer to half inch. Not yet had an oppertunity to try them at 200 yards but I'm confident they'll be very good If you've not used Moly coated bullets yet, try and source non moly coated bullets first Quote Link to post

Question for you John...Why cant we reload in the south...Will the law ever change? I have a collection of about 350 spent hornady cases ready for if it does..... Guest JohnGalway
There isn't one decent reason why we can't to be quite honest. Main reasons they Government give us is that criminals and subversives will break into peoples homes for the powders, primers and reloading gear, and that it's dangerous. Plenty of people across the UK and Northern Ireland reload, as they do also in the USA and elsewhere. So why are we given special treatement? Think about the subversive reason, Northern Ireland residents can reload, Republic of Ireland residents can't. Someone explain that to me please? Are they trying to get us to believe there are no subversive elements in Northern Ireland now? Yeah... Is it dangerous? If done wrong it is, but like I say millions of people all over the world do it Criminals can rob ready loaded factory ammo as is. Or get it in in drugs shipments. One of the worst reasons contradicts another, They say reloading is dangerous as too much powder can be used but then go on to state that criminals will on purpose use too much powder to enhance the performance of guns they have. It's all bollocks. No, I don't think we'll be allowed to reload anytime soon. Technically, as I understand it, we CAN reload now. but, the catch is this, you need to hold an explosives licence to hold the powder and primers. Try getting one of those from your local Garda station It's all wrong, wrong, wrong and actually encourages people to break the law as it stands. Quote Link to post
