worldruler 58
Hi all this is my second post actually, but thought I might as well introduce myself, My name is John and I come from the isle of lewis in the outer hebridies, and I have just taken ownership of my first ever patterdale (from working stock btw) I am hoping to have her ratting and might give her a try on minks as that is what both her parents did for a living. I am a relative newbie although I have been a casual hunter since I was a teenager I just used whatever dogs I had at the time ranging from border collies to lab X to boxer X all good dogs in their own way. cheers John

Geoff.C 0
Hello John, welcome to the forum. Are mink a problem on the Isle of Lewis?
worldruler 58
yea! where I used to live there were shed loads of them, I even found a litter of them sleeping above ground in broad daylight, didnt have the heart to kill them though. There used to be mink farms up here and they all escaped in the 60's they do alot of damage to ground nesting birds and such like. I dug up a few with my old lab X he hated them, I remember the first one he caught, the smell took me totally by surprise I nearly gagged but what was even worse he then ate the bloody thing lol
