stringer 1
I don't agree, I would not have a problem shooting a cat that was doing damage in an area it should not be in. As long as it did not have a collar on, if it did I'd cage trap the sod and send him to the local authorities. Bloody cats do some amount of damage. My sister has two, actually make that four, she's a cat magnet. There are regularly dead song birds around the place. (Most) people won't let their dogs roam free, cats shouldn't be any different. I think you may have missed my point. I never said that the cat wasn't a pest or shouldn't be controled in one way or another, I just think we dont need the photos to illustrate the point. Can you imagine the headlines if certain quarters within the media got hold of this. I somehow dont think they would present a very ballanced argument to their readers. Link to post
SportingShooter 0
OK then put it another way. Foxes. What is to stop the Anti brigade taking pictures from this site of dead foxes where the picture contains no method of how it was killed. I never post pictures of foxes without a rifle in the picture. But there are an awful lot that do. The words in the thread to explain the picture will be tossed aside. At least in this picture there is a Rifle in the picture, a legal method of despatch. If he was satisfied that it was a legal shot, and FD is a very very experienced shot, then I can't see the problem if you consider the other dead animals we see on here in particularly Foxes where there are now outlawed methods of despatch. Regards SS Link to post

Regards SS The difference is that Joe and Josephine public do not generally have a fox lying around on their sofa so are emotionally detatched. My experience of people is that they accept that foxes have to be controlled and are therefore on the whole indifferent. Cheers Stringer Link to post

Deker 3,478
I don't agree, I would not have a problem shooting a cat that was doing damage in an area it should not be in. Totally agree, but in an attempt not to be too controversial I shall avoid refererence to childrens pets here. Wild/Ferral cats are a serious pest in some areas and cause considerable damage. They can be legally shot, and are, on a regular basis, and I for one have no problem pulling the trigger. Also understand several peoples comments about posting the picture, but we live in the real world and this is a hunting site, people can make any suggestion about any picture these days as there are so many editing programmes available! Having said all that, probably best we all shut up and let this one drift away down the pages!! Edited August 7, 2008 by Deker Link to post
