wheels for landy 110

ive recently started doing up a 110 it came with 5 spoke alloys 245,75,16 its grinding quite badley on full lock i phoned up one of the wheel dealears in landy mag he states that factory fitted they come with 265,75,16 and says its probable got disco wheels on it if fitted wheel spacers on it hasnt done much

do i have to buy steel new wheels meant for a landy 110

any help appreciated its mud tyres i wont fitted ,i was thinking 235/85/16 on the existing alloys hoped it would resolve problem but would wont some bigger ones if poss.

I think our tyre man is talking sh1t, I've got disco wheels on my 90, with 235's on. Reason - they don't bend as much as the standard defender rims.

 

You can go big on the land rovers - 22" rims but you'll need spacers, lift kit, castor correction arms etc etc.

 

Also bear in mind - MOT's have changed, unless it's standard or factory fit it's classed as an aftermarket accessory.

 

A mate has put 285's on wolf rims but didn't bother with anything else & his rover was in a bad way.

 

All you have to do is adjust your steering stops - it'll reduce your turning circle. The grinding is just the tyres rubbing on the radius arms.

cheers mate the 245 i have on at the moment are already rubbing i will have a word with my mate to adjust the stops.if i adjust the stops did you say it will reduce the turning circle ?as it dosent have much of one as it is!

ive had spacers fitted already.
