bagforthebadgers 0
I was just wondering what flies to use for salmon through out the season, I sort of know about the colour change of flies through out the year but could do with a little extra help with names of flies and what time of year to use them or just a good all season fly! Information is gratefully recieved. Quote Link to post

Guest Eamon.Mc
Here's a fly that I find works well all year round. It's called a Bann Special here in Ireland, it's an irish pattern the smaller ones I use in low water conditions. The heavy ones when the water is heavy. Sometims the smaller flies can work much better when you are gettin takes but not hooking up. Dropping down a size can sometimes make the difference between hooking and not hooking. JMO Sorry the pic ain't that clear but I don't have one of those big supershot type cameras. Quote Link to post

bagforthebadgers 0
shrimp flies always do well on my local river but ive never had much luck with them ive had more sucess with the gary dog, willie gun , thunder and lighting and G.P There has been quite a bit of talk about the gold garry dog, that seems to do well on the tyne. The pot bellied pigs to well for people aswell but like you I have had no luck on them or the shrimp flies yet! Quote Link to post
