poaching near YEALMPTON, DEVON

Recommended Posts

ok guys I really need you to help me here please. 2 weeks ago a terrible incident took place near yealmpton, Devon, and people unknown, believed to be poaching or lamping without permission near yealmpton shot a pet cocker spaniel belonging to a lovely family who live adjacent to the fields. Blood was found immediately at the scene...a lot of blood....but no body. The police believe the spaniels body was removed from the scene by the culprits and dumped elsewhere. The children in this family are devastated and so are the adults. this sweet little bitch was a harmless pet who jumped over into the field late at night when she heard people out there, and the :censored: fu**ing scum who shot her must have known she was not either a guard dog (she wasnt barking) or a fox.

The children are so desperate to know the fate of their pet that they are now asking for information on where they can retrieve the body from so they can bury her and move on. If ANYONE has any info on who might have done such a thing please pm me or failing that you can send an anonymous email to an email address that has been set up for the purpose its horseandhound@btinternet.com

fcuking skum bags it makes mt blood boil. Some poor little girls pet

yes they heard one shot it was when they put the dog out last thing for a pee at night in their garden(it was literally just over the hedge from their garden) and then a yelp and a 2nd shot...then the lamps went out quick and they heard no more. they went into the field and found a lot of blood spattered grass and some hair from their spaniel but no one or any sign of their dog. the game keeper on the estate is their friend and he came right out and helped them search thru the night but no signs of anything. they really just want to know where they can find the body so they can bury her and help the 4 children who are understandably very very upset.

It makes me sick that people will happily shoot a dog of anysort, a dog is a companion for hunting, shooting, at home and anywhere else it goes with you, to treat it just as another animal is barbaric and incredibly short sighted, a dog is loyal beyond belief.

They have a big problem with deer poaching on a big estate near me and have had attacks on estate property because managers and rangers have been trying to stop them. they kill the deer with a .22r/f or long dogs, hack off the bits they want and leave the rest. It disgusts me, the sooner they are involved in a freak accident with a forgotten mantrap the better.

bad news mate no dog deserves to be shot for no reason especially a family pet...but it doesnt mean it is definetly poachers or boys lamping with dogs because i dont know any that carry a gun around with them.....but it is really sad news and i hope you get to the bottom of it mate

i didnt say it did deserved it , i just think people are a bit quick to blame nightwalkers

the landowners had always been happy for their dogs to go in the fields.....although in fact they had never ever gone over that hedge until that night. Furthermore the keeper and underkeeper are 2 of their closest friends and once the police were involved it appears there is an ongoing investigation into poaching and illegal coursing on this particular estate and the police even have an operation name for it! :icon_eek:

It hasnt been publicised as the owners kids just too upset, however now its 2 weeks on and it will be reciving some publicity. Someone somewhere (although obviously not neccesarily on here!)knows what happened and a simple anonymous message telling me where the body can be found will suffice.

i cant understand why poachers would shoot a dog and remove it????? if there using a rifle then the bullit would of fragmented so you wouldnt of got a match to a rifle anyway...if it was a 22lr they wouldnt of heard anything anyway.......maybe look closer to home??? its very very strange.....somthing isnt right there :icon_eek::icon_eek:

bigredbusa. although no time seems to have been given when this despicable act took place, i have agree to some part with you concerning the chances of poachers killing this family pet. poaching a game estate with what i gather was a heavy calibre rifle which was quoted, killed the dog, doesn't seem to be the act of poachers who would use dogs or a smaller silenced weapon for poaching. and to discharge a weapon so close to a probably lit up house as the owners release thier pet for it to relieve itself really does beggar belief. it brings hunting into disrepute and also does nothing but bring a lot of heartache to a family we must remember. and whoever the culprit/culprits are i hope someone can help bring them to book.

Don t mean to sound like a csi but if the family found blood it must have been shot quite close to their house, with a high calibre???They removed the dog and the family never thought to look out after the shot? The peelers have a team to stop poaching in the area,im assuming some of the team wouldbe on call at night?Poachers using a weapon that size??Removing the evidence? Why?Hardly in case they loose their permission.Poachers must have been friends of the keeper to shoot vermin on a game estate so its not likely it was mistaken for a fox.UNLESS it was the keepers :hmm:Something doesn t add up,doesn t sound like the work of poachers to me .
