pegandgun 52
Criminal record is a big factor. You dont need land but if you want to hunt with it then you have to put some land down somewhere. You dont need land if you join a rifle club.It costs about £50 for five years and then another £26 for every gun you put onto your license Quote Link to post

Within reason any calibre was O,k so long as you had a valid reason to own one.You only nead to pay £26 if you add further calibres after the certificate is granted. This includes the addition of silencers.Think about your calibre choice before applying. There is no minimum acreage of land for any calibre,it just has to be safe for that calibre. If you are granted a ticket through joining a club then legally you have to find out if any land you shoot on is passed for your calibre. After 5 years [one term] you can apply for an open ticket, which means you can assess land yourself for suitability. If you already have a shotgun license then ask for them both to run out at the same time as the replacement fee is a lot cheaper than doing them seperately. Guest bobbys back
is it better to have a shot gun license first ?????? Quote Link to post
Guest A Sick Old Man
No whack in for the pair, its called a co terminus licence and its £50 for the pair for five years, I put in for both and got them no problem. Unlike pockets I left the "Nostrills" behind when I went to the post office But take the advice already given, think carefuly about what you need first, even if you do not buy them its better to get them on your ticket from the start.
