The lads left the earth in a fair bad state as well.

They made a half assed attempt at back filling.

The way the foxes were laid out it looks like they were placed

there deliberately just for the photo to make things out to be barbaric

Over theyears I have concluded we're our own worst enemies.I was checking a farm 2 seasons ago and came across a fox den that was dug open 3 times on the same day.i found out who did it from the land owner,he was frothing. But amazingly it was done by a renound terrier man who was years at it.I was more than surprised at his shabby effort to back fill, never mind the fact he had to open 3 times, must be some game terrier :icon_eek: .When he returns hes going to get some welcome from the farmer I can tell you.I am blue in the face every season backfilling some other tossers dirty work,it doesnt take long so theres no excuse.LEAVE IT AS YE FIND IT.

shouldn't be too hard to find out who it was. at best it's just kids starting out that need to be pointed in the right direction.

i think it was Pip that was asking for a sticky as to how things should be done, for people starting out.Eamon's 2 photo's would be a good start.

the other thing for me is that this a bad time of year to be digging, one big reason is that the country is full of people out walking around or out for a spin for the day, happy to stick their noses into anything thats going on.

you won't get many members of the public walking around fresh digs in Novenber etc.

I have dug near footpaths, rights of way and such, tried to time it so we were there in the week or early morning always backfilled just flattened grass left used a ground sheet for the earth so it all went back in and buried the foxes after it doesnt take too long. Sounds like these people were in a hurry to leave as if it wasnt the permission :hmm: . Just a thought!

In my opinion they're pobably the sort who go out during the Summer

and kill everything and then brag about it and not go out in the wind

and rain in the Winter.

I believe the English lads call them t-shirt hunters!

The only lads who should be digging at this time of year are those

who get called out by a farmer.

Why people can't wait just a few months is beyond me.

They're in the wrong sport if they're in it just for the killing.

In response to JIGSAW, every week this season we had to backfill

earths. And some will never hold again after the state they were left in.
