MIKE 18
I have cross posted this fella for you to see the pics of the bitch.................................................. Took a long trip up north last Wednesday but for a different reason this time,no rabbiting planned for the day but a good trip none the less. I have had my Kelpie cross dog for almost four years now and was fortunate enough to get him when I did as there aren't a lot of people breeding genuine first cross Kelpie Greyhounds,he has proved himself well over the years and I would love a bitch just like him .This is the reason for my trip north as a while back now I was fortunate enough to buy the litter sister to the father of my dog.She is just over five years old now and has well proven herself hunting, this bitch will face any cover hunt up,mark, work with ferrets and she was used working a beating line so will retrieve shot game when required. After some careful thinking of which way to go I decided that putting a pure greyhound dog over her was going to be the way forward and with this in mind decided to use Dave Sleights dog "Price Cut / Nobby's Lad.It was an early start and a long trip but a good mate of mine came with me to keep me company of which I was very grateful and after a few hours drive we finally reached our destination. We had a bit of a chat with Dave on the way to the dog,he brought the dog out for me to see and I was pleased with my choice as he seemed to be a very well put together dog and was in pretty good shape for a dog that is no longer racing. He certainly knew his job and after a brief introduction the deed was done and a good eighteen minute tie was achieved. Then it was time for the long journey back home but I had achieved what I set out to do so was a very happy bunny...lol... Anyway we will see what happens now in a few weeks, fingers crossed there should be some nice pups on the way out of these two ................. All the best Mike Quote Link to post

whin 463
ye you should get a couple your a brave man . i bred a few collie crosses years ago halfs i picked the one i wanted and out of each litter only got four who could kill a good hare or a strong roe which had a start , they all rabbited well enough and lamped well but a winter hare was to much for them but the ones that were just [bANNED TEXT] well they were strong fast and couldnt ask for more alas alot of wastage but i must say daves greyhounds are better than the ones my mate had so maybe the fault lay there we are talking 20years ago , hope you get some nice pups cheers Quote Link to post
