chartpolski 25,267
sorry to here about your loss longdogrunner feel for you , anyone else with a fast greyhoundy types or any dog, always keep some electrolytes in your car, or at lest water to stop them dehydrating, on a hot day or night if they over heat you need to cool them off ( the hole body) some how and get some electrolytes down their throats. He got water down him quick; but this wasn't heat exhaustion, the dog had a stroke. No amount of water would have helped. Cheers. Quote Link to post

Ive been out with LDR more times than I can remember along with the two batteries that he carries and the bag (usually full of game) and the first aid kit (For the dogs!) He also carries bottles of water - not for us but for his dogs, one to pour over them if they get hot and two to make sure they are fully hydrated, I wasn't there, but I can honestly say - there is NO way Billy was worked too hard, LDR knows what he is doing and I have no problem admitting - he has probably forgotten more than I will ever know about lurchers and their job!
