dogs in or out

Mine are working dogs and are kept outside and they dont make a sound. No way would I keep 3 terriers and a Lurcher in the house.

 

I'm not saying you should keep your dogs inside - I just prefer to. But WHY is there no way you'd keep them in the house? What are your reasons? Just think the thread'd be more interesting if people said WHY they do one thing or the other rather than just stating their position.

What are the advantages of keeping them out for you?

My dogs live outside cause they are feckin "ard" bstds. Their sleeping quarters is a right sh%thouse!!

I know this thread has been dormant for a few days but just wanted to ask a couple more questions...

 

Those who do keep your dogs outside - Are they in a closed/confined kennel and run? Or is it a traditional kennel where they just lie/sleep and can roam the garden as they wish?

 

Which would the dog prefer? And if allowed to 'roam' the garden then would the dog be constantly trying to come indoors?
