If you need it right now HP is available from PCWorld. But if you want value for money and a PC that lasts beyond warranty get a Dell. I always use Dell servers and desktops at work and have no problems. The handfull of HPs I've inherited have all gone tits up with few exceptions.

Dell have been totally reliable in my commercial and personal experience. If you know of a crippling problem which covers the dell range of machines I would love to know as it may save me embarressment in the future. Strong Stuff 2,171
Personally speaking ............ I'd definitely buy Hewlett Packard, and I'd buy it from Staples, excellent customer service and the staff seem to know their stuff, I'd avoid PC World/Dixons/Currys, I worked for them briefly, they are absolutely wank at customer service, they are there to sell sell sell, regardless of what you want or need. Staples quite often have end of line deals or shop models, that come with the full warranty. I'm writing this on a HP desktop PC, looking at a HP LCD monitor, both bought from Staples, honestly you won't go wrong
