sam-jones69 0
hi people. im still new to this so i will probably ask many more stupid questions :]. well.. i bought this scope a while back for my air rifle and have only just got mounts for it as i have been too busy to get to the gun shop. i was just wondering if its any good because i cant seem to sight it up very well, at about 25-30 yrds it always shoots up and to the right and i keep adjusting it and its just stuck there, do you think its broken ? or it could be me. its a parker hale 4-12X40 and i had it for £40 brand new i thought it was a pretty good buy what do you reckon?.... (picture isn't great quality i know). Quote Link to post

(picture isn't great quality i know). sounds silly but make sure the mounts are on the rifle firm mate. the set the target board up abit closer and try to zero it. if that works but it back abit more. then if you still have no luck. see if you can try a different scope on the rifle. and that scope on someone elses rifle. that way you should sort it out and no what the problem is. sam-jones69 0
new problem now lol i cant zoom in and out i can only go from 4 to 5 and its really stiff its probably something really simple knowing me i think I'm just going to take the rifle and the scope to the shop and ask them to have a go at zeroing it and if they cant then i will ask for a nice hw100k as a freebie Quote Link to post
garyw 0
sam. there is a thing when buying scopes and it is save up for the best you can afford ,then save some more and get a better one a cheap scope weather its on an air gun or a custom rifle will limit the set up but put a top end scope on a half decent gun will improve it no end.when you have a good scope or more than one you can always transfer them onto whatever you buy. i think most of us have gone down this route before i admit i have and quickly learned to buy the best.the old saying of you cant make a silk purse out of a sows ear, springs to mind.my opinion if you want would be to take the scope back and trade it up for something a lot better you have had £50 worth of aggro from a £40 scope. good luck with your choice. stubby 175
new problem now lol i cant zoom in and out i can only go from 4 to 5 and its really stiff its probably something really simple knowing me i think I'm just going to take the rifle and the scope to the shop and ask them to have a go at zeroing it and if they cant then i will ask for a nice hw100k as a freebie you've probably tightened the mounts up to much, remember this is an optic, it has lenses inside it, are you doing them allen screws up, like a plumber doing up a pipe fitting you should gently and evenly screw them in, then give them a quarter nick turn, Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
it doesnt matter at all if the scope is on upside down or not, not to the point of aim anyway, its just confusing to the marksman. WHY? because the centre of the cross hairs is stll at the centre no matter if you get the windage turret where the ellivation turret should be and vise versa. Quote Link to post
