Hi folks,

Just out of curiousity I was wondering how people use this site. When I come on the very first button I click is View New Posts to see what's new since I last visited. I'm sure other people will go to particular forums as they may only be interested in that section of the site. So here's a poll about it :)

All the best,

John

I have used both John but these days I tend to just "click to view" as I can't cope with the way the site has gone and this week is the first time in a long while that I have raised a topic in "Airguns" for fear of it being torn to shreds by the "know all" culture that have taken over here

I do the same as you John, "View new posts". I scan down them and just read the ones that sound interesting to me,or that I might be able to contribute to. If you haven't visited for a day, there could be 6--9 pages of new stuff, so I filter it a bit.

Mad al, sorry you think there is a "know all" culture developing. Are you talking generally or just in airguns?

The temporary "mad" guests and trouble makers annoy me, folk can be quickly put off by needless drivel from them.

just about throughout Geoff :( there are some who just like myself can't be bothered to post because of this. With regard to the "airgun" stuff, I see it on other forums purely devoted to the sport, so that isn't new, but for it to creep into the other stuff on here is disappointing.

Now take running dogs as an example, if I posted where I am up to with Lily at the minute, I would be shot down in flames..............the thing is I have nothing to hide or prove, what you see and read about is exactly what you get :hmm: , could always post a load of bullshit about what my dogs and I do/kill count etc, but I'd be a liar.........................don't do lies in our house

Cheers Geoff...................Al :drink:

There's some form of what you speak of on all of the hunting forums I visit regularly MA (eight). I've gotten responses to my own topics and posts both here and elsewhere that I could have done without, some from people who "are just that way" and others from those who plainly put just don't like me for whatever reason. But, and I'm only speaking for me, the advantages of posting outweigh the disadvantages. If I need an answer to something I can stick up a question and get in in under 24 hours usually. And if I can help someone I do that too. I'll post my opinion on something if I feel I should, what others make of it is up to them. If they start nit picking just for the sake of that then I do feel a bit sorry that that is how their life is going. But I don't let it get to me. In all walks of life you'll meet people who think they know it all, there's no getting away from it. What I do is to be brutally honest ignore those I don't get along with or who I think are well stuck up themselves. I'm only putting myself out if I leave the forum or if I let them get under my skin.

It got very much like BBS at one point in there, Al mate. I think they must have had a 'mass banning' on there at some point, and a few came onto here.
