mad al 146
Right guys, do you back off at all or do hunt all year? For me if I see a rabbit............it's history and another meal for the family all year around Some folk are reluctant to hunt them at the end of the year up until April time due to the young but the way I see it is that in the case of vermin control, if you shoot a pregnant doe, well it's a job well done Quote Link to post
harrycatcat 31
Farmer near us has diversified and created a mountain board (skate board but bigger wheels) hill and he wants us to clear em all the time as they make a mess with holes and its dangerous for kids going down the grass hill riddled with holes. So all year round. Other areas though its good to save some for September Quote Link to post
LOGUNSOLO177 0
I am the same all year round as long as the weather is good!!! Quote Link to post
mark01856 7
were i used to live, we shot rabbits all year round, because there was a grave yard next to fields, which was heaving with rabbits, so much so that they started digging around in the graveyard, and making a mess of peoples plots, and as you can imagine its not the best thing having rabbit holes all around a grave yard, so we was asked by the local counciller, well at least i think that was who he wa, to shoot them all. andy s410c 61
On my land i ferret oct-feb,march-mid april i have to have a break due to the lambing on the land as the landowner is busy with them.Rest of the year is taken up with the gun, early morning shooting & lamping, weather permitting of course... If a landowner asked me to carry out pest control all year round it,s no problemo Quote Link to post
Coney 3
All year round for me & the lads, day/night, even been known to take the odd shift off work to do a bit of mooching. Quote Link to post
Guest little_lloyd
On the land i shoot over you will be lucky to see a rabbit through the winter,, summer is the time you start to notice them in bigger numbers,, Quote Link to post
dytkos 17,861
Pest control permission, all year round. Sporting permission, as and when neccessary. Cheers, D. Quote Link to post
moxy 617
We shoot all year round. At the moment we are trying to secure more permissions so we can limit the amount of time we spend at a particular spot and always have somewhere to shoot. We have hit some places hard over the years and therefore lowered the rabbit population ten fold, good news for the farmers but not so much for us. Sometimes spend more time walking and keeping fit than actually shooting Sometimes dont see any rabbits at all. Quote Link to post
