Im planning on getting a sea fishing outfit, to go off the coast boat fishing, and was just wondering if anyone would know which multiplier reel to get and what weight line is recommended for cod fishing, and i've heard these cod are big! We might be catching some tope or another type of shark aswell if there about. But I dont know if ill be using my rod or a specific heavy weight rod? Any tips would be gratefully recieved

Thanks

try a few trial runs first mate and make sure its for you, most boats that go out lay on bait and tackle for a days fishing at a cost, that way you get all the advice from seasoned anglers thrown in as well, as for tackle try secondhand, fleabay or bootsales for rods, terminal tackle is cheap as chips from most shops swivels hooks etc...good luck and tight lines...well not too tight i hope :whistling:

Im fairly sure it's for me. as long as there is a lure or something with a hook in it out there, that stands a chance in hooking a fish im happy! Thanks for the information and tight lines.

Shimano TLD multiplier reel, and a Shakespeare Ugly stik rod, berkley whiplash pro 50lb line. Can't go wrong with this tackle for boat fishing. Buy a copy of sea angler. You'll find all you want to know about sea fishing and gear in there.
