Ok, lets say for arguements sake, you and me were out for a walk with your 22in dog and my 28 in dog or my 27in dog or even all 3 whatever, we've got all the dogs walking to heel and 50yds ahead of us up pops a hare and runs away from us in a straight line, are you telling me you think your dog will beat mine to the turn??? your dog would be taking 3 or 4 strides to my dogs 1, i aint calling your dogs, and i dont doubt you bought....i mean won all your trophies..... :tongue2: ...... but i just cant see it, i'll give you 30-40 yds off the cuff but then it'd be game over, honestly mate get your dog to a flapping track and get a time on her!!!

i cant beleave what i just read you will give my dog 30 to40 yards over say 200 yards, its a lurcher is it are do you own top honcho :clapper: really mate you are havin a laugh, mark

thats a silly reply mark , how do you know have you ever seen evry whipp/grey run .

the pic in my avatar and on the coursing thread of Sally , she was whipp/grey or possibly whipp/grey deer/grey. but no saluki or colie.

let me tell ya this bitch could lamp all night , and have 3 mins on a hare . and run 4-5 -6 in a day . there are also witnesses on this site will back up her capabilites.

I had a greyhound that i raced on 2 flapping tracks in south wales one called valley near ystrad and the other down the road near aberbargoed. She was quick real quick and won me a few good races. some of you welsh guyes may of hered of her smokey eyed joe later to be called running for fun. well anyway i had a bitsa lurcher and i used to sprint them together up a hill local to me and for the first 200 yards the greyhound didnt get a look in. The lurcher was 22 tts and the grey 27 tts.

dont know what you're reading into that but its farely straight forward, i accept that your dogs initial take off will beat mine for the first 30-40yds and thats it!!! and over 200yds, you certainly wouldn't get a look in, but i'm probably wrong, like i say the only way to ever really know is to have a week up here in gods country, bring some friends and we'll al have a look out???

Ps im not 100% but i think my old grey still has the record for the 100 mtr open dash at ystrad wich shows how quich she was off the mark.

well if what you said is true,a bitza lurcher was faster????????????????????????mark, and tomo 40 yrs of havin these dogs, with my big headed attitude says i have seen a few whippets and ghounds run,if these dogs have the stamina why do we all bother with LURCHERS,mark

The bitza lurcher was fast yes but on a track at 525 it wouldnt get a look in. The only advantidge bigger dogs have over smaller dogs (not greys) is stamina and being able to deal with bigger quarry. Thats my 5p worth and im not getting in to a argument over it its my experance. Someone else has probs experanced differant but it dont mean anyone is lieing.
