whin 463 Posted March 29, 2008 Report Share Posted March 29, 2008 socks some dogs you gel with some are hard work , nothing worse than planning a litter breeding your own and they dont make good all rounders , i have pushed some dogs when young and some took it and some you have to give them more time , how long do you give a dog mines get two seasons work if the dont make it or dont show any good signs of improving greatly well its plan b, i breed all my own dogs or get them of trusted proven lines ive seen all the parents of the dogs no whats there good pionts bad pionts , i prefer male dogs even tho i have a few bitches but for some reason i get on better there more forgiving and more out going the saluks are any way ,the collie line i keep are hard headed any way so there pretty bomb proof, there never a blame culture its not a blame game its how life goes if your used to a certain standard of dog then you try and keep it going im afraid , it doesnt always work but you can only try , and as for ultimate dog trainer i am not as its been many years since i went in for training dogs to a high standard , but i have done that type of thing on the big stage as they say obeidence comps etc , to me a dog is a part of a team and if the team doesnt work its not a team then ,look at the amount of greyhounds get bred to get a few champs etc if it was that easy then i wouldnt be so strict etc cheers and there nothing wrong with giving dogs to less demanding good homes mate but that is the last straw im afraid Quote Link to post
whin 463 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Share Posted March 31, 2008 socks im not on any high horse and what i expect of a dog some dont so hence the reason less demanding homes now if your happy with the dogs you keep and the way they, turn out fine .and i dont think im any ultimate dog trainer, leave it for the sit and stayers . you can feed a good dog for the same as one thats not as good or got faults thats nowt to do with trainig or entering , my mane cocern with any my dogs is they catch whats there and give there best and dont quit etc al the best, if you want to see a few failed dogs ive got a few there not the best at one thing but they can hold there own on most things cheers Quote Link to post
