cyprinuschris 0
Right people some advise please I have already some carl zeiss 8x30 and I am after spending about £300 on a new set I have been looking at the nikon monarch dcf 8.5x56 has anyone any experience with that model also I would consider opticron-leupold(windriver) or could anyone suggest any decent ones without breaking the bank I have a browning scope on my fac x2 and must admit i do think it is clear so I would consider the browning 8x42 as anyone any experience with that model i thank you all in advance. After just returning from my first stalking trip and using some top swarovski binoculars I need something decent I know I will not get anything like the swarovski with that money but there must be some half decent ones for the right price anyone Edited March 25, 2008 by cyprinuschris Quote Link to post
landrover 6
I have a pair of Vortex Vultures 8.5x50 which are very very clear. I paid £200 for them from northallerton shooting supplies Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Nikon MONARCH 8x42 excellent value for money and right up there with the best, for a fraction of the price. Quote Link to post
novice 25
I have a pair of Leupold Windriver Cascades 8x42. Picked them up cheap 2nd hand on ebay. Seem clear enough and gather sufficent light for my needs. I can also use them all day without any eye strain. Good value. Quote Link to post
wildfowler-2007 0
swarovski all day every day the best bino's cash can buy had mine for years and still look like new Quote Link to post
mj robson 8
In the £300 price range your not going to get any 8x56 in the top end glass unless you get second hand. In the new stuff at that price you won't beat Minox or Steiner in my opinion. Mark. Quote Link to post
cyprinuschris 0
I was looking at the 8.5x56 monarchs snap shot I thought they looked alright for the money and wildfowler i know what you mean with the swarovski's the ones i was using over the easter weekend where some 12x58 and some 8x42 and yes they are something else but just a little out of my price range I just wish I could afford so it looks like the monarchs though I was told by the swarovski owners that the browning aren't bad at all for the money and the browning on my daystate aren't bad at all and yes as i stated i do not expect to get fantastic glass just something nitrogen filled etc. and land rover i must admit them vortex do look/sound ok so plenty to think about but still do not what to get out of the three mentioned obviously excluding the swarovskis I wish Quote Link to post
