Variation for 223

You got a visit for a variation? Was it a land check? I've never heard of that before, unless you've only shot rimfires so far and they wanted to see how good you are? Well done though, as long as they said yes that's the main thing! I hope it gets sorted quickly for you. Just out of interest, how long did you have to wait for the visit?

If you want to add a rifle a visit is the norm, I have always had one, the only time they don't is when it's a one-for-one. The argument is that they need to check you have space and that your good reason is properly sound.

i.v got a 1.7 hmr had it since november got some land to shoot got loads of foxes on so i put in for a variation last wednesday yesterday he came out and tomorrow he.s going to see if the land i;v got to shoot he will pass for my new 223..john

Added 2 rifles via variations and not had a visit on either.

think its a regional thing.
