bagforthebadgers 0
A new season has already begun on the tyne, and a few fish have been caught. 17 through out the whole river have been caught this year so far, most being from the bywell beat. The number is so far is a good one and hopefully will rise as more fish start to show. I fish both spinners and fly, but still have to enjoy a fight on the fly rod and hope to do so this season. Has anyone else caught a fresh spring salmon yet, if so please could you let me know what you caught it on e.g spin, fly and what lure or fly was used to do so. Many Thanks Quote Link to post
Aled 508
Another week to go for me here in Wales, but the river Tywi does produce some lovely spring sewin (sea trout) so hoping for one of those in the next week or so.... Tight Lines Aled Quote Link to post

Aled 508
I'm one of the lucky ones as i have had a couple of doubles, best 13lb 9ozs. Chuffed with that one i could tell you. There are some sewin around in April, but give me a good flood in May and we can have great sport with fish from about 4lb up. These early fish are also the best eaters, they have blood red flesh and go really well with Hollandase sauce and early vegetables. Lovely. Fly at night is my passion. What about the Tyne? Tight Lines Aled havn't caught anything myself yet, but there has been quite a few salmon been caught further down at bywell, so hopefully they will move up as we have had a bit of rain and the level has risen. We get good size fishing mainly in the region of 6-15lbs but we do get a few 20lbs+ fish . Tight lines Jonny Quote Link to post
Aled 508
Salmon dont seem to get to my part of the Tywi as often as they used to however the odd one does arrive. Tomorrows the day. We've had some rain and the river is falling back nicely. Tight Lines Aled Quote Link to post
