woodga 170
well we have been doing some thinning out with the wires against the rabbits just before they breed, and as we were snaring in woodland that had a good covering of wild garlic we were aware when gutting these rabbits that they had been eating the shoots the smell was unmistakeable i cooked one of these rabbits and the garlic had gone into the flesh flavoured rabbits or what ?also depending on where your catching the colour of the fat around the kidneys varies we normally get yellow fat when they are feeding on hay or whinney bushes have you lot ever had any unusal odours when gutting or fat colourations when catching in different locations ? Never had garlic flavoured rabbits, unless i added it during the cooking...........but yellow and bright orange fat is not uncommon in these parts. In the area i wire and trap we also have ramsons or wild garlic growing profusley. Best Regards Rolfe. Quote Link to post

mole trapper 1,693
One of the places i control the rabbits is hard against the Atlantic, very barren, the rabbits there have extremley yellow/orange fat, they strip the Gorse bare. We make wine out of the gorse from this same farm but the rabbits do not taste like it "unfortunatly". Quote Link to post
