garyw 0 Posted March 25, 2008 Report Share Posted March 25, 2008 go out when you can,at this time of year if a dog fox is hunting for two[vixen with cubs] then you have more chance of a sighting.if your land is new to you get out and cover every inch find out where the rabbits are and other likely sources of food for charly.these will be the best places for a sighting.try baiting an area up with dead rabbits and at a distance with the wind in your favour wait.and the method most use is the lamp. good luck Quote Link to post

Guest JohnGalway Posted March 29, 2008 Report Share Posted March 29, 2008 I most often go out just as it's dark, and stay out as long as I can. One particular fox is coming into our fields around 1.30am though. Have recorded them on the trail camera at all times during the night, popular wisdom is that they're most active an hour before dark to two hours after and two hours before dawn and an hour after I believe.
