pointer crosses

through this forum i was lucky enough to meet up with someone who also works pointer cross lurchers.ive had a great season working my lurcher to rabbits and rats.

i dont take many photos but heres a few.

 

id just like to say thanks to this lad for inviting me out onto his permission.hopefully i can repay the favour next season.

SAW SEVERAL PIONTER CROSSES SOME WERE GOOD NOT MY TYPE OF DOG, BUT THERE WAS A BITCH IN ONE OF THE HALFCROSES LITTER I SAW SHE WAS A [bANNED TEXT] DOG , SHE WAS FAST STRONG JUMPED FOR FUN , BUT THE ONES I SAW WERE GOOD FOX DOGS WORKED THE HEATHER BUT USED THERE TOUNGE WELL SOME DID BUT NO BIG DEAL AS THEY HAD 35 THOUSAND ACRES OF LAND TO KILL VERMIN , I DID LIKE THEM BUT TO ME THEY WERE SPECALISTS AT THERE JOB AND NOT ALROUNDERS WHICH I KEEP AND BREED , STILL LIKE THEM , BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIMITED WITH THE HALFCROSSES I SAW APART FROM THE BITCH I SAW THE REST WERE BIG RANGY PIONTERS BUT TOUGH ON QAURRY THAT BITES BACK

if you mean fox mine did a few pre ban but not regular enough to know if she would have made a good fox dog.

thats a good honest assessment of your own dog ,dont here much of that these days ,generally the good dog men do it .people who suffer from kennel blindness rarely if ever have anything of any use :clapper::clapper:

the choc/red and white bitch is a 3/4 pointer cross.

i hope im always honest about my dog,my main sport is hunting up moorland and its surrounding reeds/rough heather and ratting.

i go ferreting and lamping but my dog dosent do very well at it.she hasnt the patience for ferreting or the speed for lamping.still you have to use the dog you have so she does her best.

 

i like the gwp cross,if you think about it all i want is a dog which hunts the same terrain as a pure gwp but with that bit extra speed to catch what it flushes.i have a five month old half cross pup here aswell as a seven week old pure gwp so ill have a busy summer getting those two ready for the back end of next season.

 

my bitch is bred from a gwp bitch to a nuttall coursing dog.
