pegandgun 52
When shes due, keep her kennel linned with news papers, draft proof and a heat lamp is a good idea at this time of year. Then leave her too it and pop your head in ounce in a while just to make sure shes ok Quote Link to post
nuv 2
Make sure she has pig rails around the edge of the box. Booking the day off when she's due ain't a bad idea either. Quote Link to post

Guest Fell & Moorland WTC SW area
Once your bitch has the pups pump her full of the best food you can & when your pups are on solids feed them on the best you can <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For the first few Weeks of pregnancy keep her on her normal amount of food. Nothing wrong with changing to a better grade of food but don't over-feed her. After about the fifth Week you will really start to notice she is in Pup, then you can start to increase her feed gradually. About 2 Weeks before she is due worm her and give her a Flea Treatment. A few Days before they are due start to give her Goats Milk to drink. Keep her Water there, but supplement it with Goats Milk. Once they are born give her as much as she will eat and drink. She will eat the Afterbirth remember, so she may not eat much for a Day or two. Her Shite will be dark and a bit runny which will change after a day or so. There are some good Books on the Market to help you out. Most Pet Shops will have them. GET THE TAILS DONE BY *AT THE LATEST* THE FIFTH DAY FROM BEING BORN!! I do mine about the third Day, and generally cut them longish. It gives me the option to get them done shorter should I have to. You can't stick it back, but you can cut a bit off if they are too long. IDEALLY YOU WANT IT DONE IN ONE GO THOUGH, SO GET SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE IT BEFORE. Get a good Book, it will tell you what you want to know. Quote Link to post
