BLACKBOB 9
Thirty five years ago a mates colly/greyhoundxwhippet bitch bit my young sister on the face narrowly missing her eye. There were no pitbulls in the country then so what do we blame, the greyhound, the colly or the whippet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I had a whippet x colly/ greyhound bitch which turned on my mates daughter after she had pups the girl was wearing a coat with a furry coller like rabbit colour so we put it down to protection of the pups. But once all the pups had left us she never stopped biting anyone who came to the garden, in the end she had to go. She had never done this untill she had a litter,, so i think all dogs can turn and then you will struggle to correct them or trust them again The half bull on original photos has never showed aggression to anyone and i have no problems with him with any of my dogs, but hes young and used to people, who nows what the future will bring Quote Link to post

marco 24
hi lads, i have had many different breeds of lurchers over the years.this time last year i had a 3/4 greyhound1/4 bull 241/2 inches,i have never seen a dog as fast in all my life tallying a large no.of rabbits and a handfull of hares,i couldn,t knock her will to please me but i must admit she was to aggresive to kennel up with any of my other dogs so for the saftey of my other dogs she had to go.anyway i also have a bedlington whippet first cross which is 20in to the shoulder and is the perfect mouching companion, very obedient, perfect nose and has also been a very good flushing dog for the local shoot.personally i would say that the bedlington has got as much determination as the bull as my little dog thinks he can run through dry stone walls but we know that they have not got the physical strength of a bull cross,im not knocking the bull cross in the slightest you can,t help but have respect for there gameness but for what i do the bedlington cross proves to be the better of the two breeds. Guest bandy
my personal preference is the Lurcher every time.I know Bull cross lads swear by them ,but they are heavy and slow as you clearly illustrated. And I could never trust a Bull cross I would always have the nagging doubt that it would one day snap and kill some ones dog or something it shouldn't be chasing. Bedlingtons are not geniuses but at least they are not unstable mad dogs so dangerous they had to be band. Not to mention if some body points out to the authorities you have a bull cross they will put your dog down just for being a bull cross. Which would be a pain having to start with a pup and training all again not to mention very distressing. That is if you are a genuine dog lover. personally I think Bull blood is total over kill for most hunting I know they can ,but any cross of a decent size can kill a little scrawny fox if brought on the right way ,admittedly some will never take to it. My self I know fox taste shit and prefer to eat rabbit and wood pigeon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :11: :11: :11: :11: :11: Some post on here are good for a laugh :11: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Quote Link to post
