Geoff.C 0
Details MP, please. Not much real detail about yet. There are just bits on the net and papers. They are sticking with the flat 4 configuration and so it will be the worlds first flat 4td. To maintain the Subaru low bonnet line the intercooler is slung under the engine. If I read it right, the Impreza will be out in April, then the Legacy will be seen at Frankfurt in October. As Subaru have split from GM the potential market for this unit is small, so I would expect to see it in all the range. Some other manufacturer may take interest if and when the engine proves itself. Rumour has it that the engine has been 25 years in development,so hopefully it will be good from the box.
snaremeafoxy 0
read the specs on the web site it was saying the combined fuel figure for legacy is just sort of 50mpg great that is the only reason i stopped usein subaru's is there was no diesel engine so hopefully they are good engines maybe one day i'll get one
Geoff.C 0
The new 4x4 magazine (April) has a road test on a Legacy Outback TD. They don't give any info as to when it will be on sale, the one they test is a left hooker on european plates. They give it a good write up anyway, and quote the price £21495 to £23495 so it may be around soon. A Subaru that can wring nearly 50 mpg in normal driving is novel. The best bits though are 258 lbs/ft of torque @ 1800 revs, and an emission reading of 153 g/km which puts it in band D. So road tax will not be too heavy, even with the proposed rate rises over the next two years. They say the Forester and Impreza will soon have this engine, but give no time details, probably not known yet.
Missie 1
If I had the money i'd have one. The only thing I don't like about my old legacy is its fuel consumption, other than that I love it!
