jasper65 6
I made 1 with flat steel before instead of tube all I done is drilled 1 hole in each corner tap & dyed it and done the same with the 3" spikes so if I brought it in the house I could just unscrew them Exactly! thats basically what I'm saying. there's been bows about for years now with unscrewable feet but its not needed, the threads get covered in shit and mud and can be a pain. its far simpler to have some decent 8 inch pins or whatever just to knock through the bottom should you need them, wheen you don;t want them its simple!! you pull them out again.... SPAR 2
This is one of the projects you just got to experiment with this is when I come up with more ideas to try and then I make another one and modify that Quote Link to post

SPAR 2
At the end of the day there are some good bows and some bad bows, you have only got to look at the bows they use in the USA they are some funny shape's but do they get birds that get tangled? Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Its a case of doing your Homework spar and coming up with a system that suits the bird, it may not look pretty but if the bird doesn't tangled and there is no problems and its contented then you're doing something right..... D.A.Z 0
That look's a tidy job to me and i would not spoil it yet by drilling holes in the feet till you put cap end's on once it's filled with lead.. ..if the bird does drag it then you can go with the option of peg's or other fastening'sIf you are having trouble getting cheap ring's you could have a look on ebay or a hunting shop and try to get some price's for Fox net ring's they are 2in across and very strong.. i wont buy any personaly as they are a piece of piss to make.. I dont know if you know but B@Q do astro turf foot mat's half cheap in brown or green if that's what you are putting on it.. ive not seen them in yellow though mate.. .. Let us know how you get on. Cheers Millet will let yo know how i get on migt do it tomorrow,i think i like the leather better on the bow mate,i got the astro b&q mats you say on a perch in mews.thanks daz Quote Link to post
