went out wed night to bash a few bunnies with a mate as always the 17rem tagged along.we were only 40 yds from the farm front door when with the first sweep of a small grass field we spot charles walking back up the field towards us,put the rifle on the sticks let him wander to about 80yds then pop!the little 20vmax smacks him in the chest right in the boiler room.went to pick him up and its an oldish dog about 3-4yrs old with a cracking coat on him [its a pity there aint a market for fox fur in this country anymore].

any way we do the rounds of the land bagging a few bunnies my mate has a tikka rim fire lovely gun with the wooden stock.

we come to another grass field about 600 yds from the first field no bunnies!so i think charly no2 is about.so a few squeeks and he shows in front and right about 200yds away trouble was we had the wind at our backs,so i thought try our luck my mate keeps calling im on the sticks ready, charly is nipping about left to right trying to catch us on the wind i thought he would bolt but my mates calling must have pissed him right off cos he ran in like a cub with no brains hes running in at about 70 yds my mate gives him the BAAAA.this stops most foxes in there tracks well he did just that with another pop!hit him in the throat down he goes like a sack of spuds.all this is seen through the scope because these 17 cal rifles have very little recoil.picked him up and hes got a big hole in the throat and out the back of his neck another dog last years i think.if the images have come out its the fox im holding.the other is the first fox.so guys you dont need a cannon to kill a fox .
