KEITH.

a 35 v max with powders in the burn rate of H110/H4198/H4227 and probably vihtn120 will give you velocitys around 2800-3100fps depending on which powder you use.

at the other end of the scale a 55vmax or similar bullet should yield 2200- 2600 fps again depending on which powder this aint too bad considering the tiny amount of powder your burning.

i wont post any actual loads because the ones i have are for a gun my mate had a few years ago.there are a few folk on this site that can supply some data or you can google RELOADERS NEST .COM they have loads for a vast array of calibres. by the way what rifle is it.

Hi Garyw, thanks for your reply and information--- My rifle is a Ruger 77/22 i recently baught it of a mate at my local range, it has been fitted with a new barrel chambered for K, the action has been bedded and the trigger unit has been honed and polished, all the work was carried out at Norman Clarks gunshop at Rugby. When i had the rifle i was also given about 50 reloaded rounds these were all 35 grain v max and used H110 powder, these shot pretty good but i have also been told that if i use Lil-gun powder the pressures are reduced and accuracy is better ?? this round is pretty new to me at the moment so i think i will have to experiment a bit to find the best combination that suits my rifle i will certainly go on to reloaders nest and have a look thanks again for your reply -keep in touch

Cheers mate.....

I reload a hornet with h110, get 3100 fps out of it with 40 grn blitkings.(had to mod the mag to get em in)

the 35grn v max would not group out of my cz 527.

thanks mate, had not thought of the mag problem, i will have to take that into account when i start reloading.

how do the 40grainers perform on foxes and what range?

PS is your hornet a K?

Thanks

hi.

its not a K.

but it flattens charlie out to nearlly 200 yds, but i like to keep it to nearer 150 for fox.
