Not got one and never used one BUT, seen, felt, touched and played with them, this range has done a lot for Webley, arguably saved/revived the name and brought them back to the forefront (who owns who now?...AGS ring any bells).

 

Don't know this specific one but most, if not all their range is Turkish, nothing necessarily bad about that, and in principle their guns do seem to offer "reasonable" quality at "affordable" prices. For the starter or occassional shooter who wants a new gun without spending a fortune a good buy.

 

If you are happy with a "used" gun, spend the same money on a better make!

I've not come across or heard about any specific problems, perhaps others have and may respond.

 

Unless the action is VERY heavy or you use particularly light or some low recoil cartridges, cycling "smaller" cartridges (length) should be easier!

 

That's about the extent of my knowledge of these, so hopefully someone else can tell you more!

The stock scratchehs and dents reall easy on most.Save your money and get a better make.Bettinsoli make great guns and the prices are not that bad, franchi are a quality make and at a resonable price.

 

 

So are Beretta..strange you should not mention them when you are using their logo!

In the last 12months or so they have come a long way. When AGS bought the name (about 2years ago now) the first shotguns they had made up where CRAP. Proper rubbish. As a dealer I was invited to the launch of the range at Minsterly Ranges; it was a piss poor day as nobody from the retail trade turned up (I only went because I was just up the road, and the buffet was free!!), mostly because the guns had been shown to dealers in the months leading up to the launch and the views were less than impressive.

 

For a while after each Webly I saw was not much better and I know there were problems with the manufacturers (in Turkey I think).

 

That said, I was with the AGS (now known as Webley) at last years Midland and the range of guns was wider, the quality was much much better, wood/plastic to metal fit was 200% better. Time will tell if they have the quality to do the job and last but from what I've seen they are holding up well.

 

Price wise I don't think they are a bargain; maybe 10% more than they should be, but they are hoping the brand will carry it through.

 

All in all they are a good gun for the money; but there are other S/A's out there in the same bracket worth a look; the Escort is not to be dismissed and there are some good second hand models from Beretta, Browning and Remm for the same sort of money.

Like I said the newer W&S are good guns, my oly slight complaing would be the price being marginally high, but that a personal thing. Escort are anotherwell worth the money; the Magi-wood stock seems to offer better quality than the synthetic. Don't discout a second hand gun; just have a look around at a few gun shops. The earlier Berettas (302 &303) are great great guns (avoid the 301, parts are a pain) as is the Remmington.

If it was the best part of £500 of my own money I'd buy a good Beretta second hand or an Escort.

Hi-- got myself one last season used it mostly for pidgeon and crows. must have put about 600 rounds through it, no jams that i can remember, mine is all black synthetic stock takes a knock and does not mark easily.these guns are manufactured in turkey, and are along the same design as the Escort guns made by the Hatson company ..Overall a good shotgun, no frills, but agood workhorse that wont let you down..

I bought a w&s semi auto but im a left hander couldnt get a left hander unless it was the 810c full camo job...mmmmm wasnt sure bout camo but its grown on me

 

BRILLIANT gun for the money had no probs whatsoever...cost me £449 but seen em cheaper now...also my mate got a right hander black synthetic for £399 new

 

we both love em for the cost....c'mon what do you get for £400 these days full set o chokes padded gunslip and lifetime gaurantee... hasnt scratched easy and used from clay loads, thru to 50 gram 2's and had no probs

 

yes better guns but with "better" prices which is all very good but if you must have a new gun not 2nd hand at all then i can recommend em. other mate has an escort but prefer the webley&scott he had some probs with jamming but not overly so
