lurchermick 0
i got my bull whippet lined last week and have been reading up that there temprament changes the further they get on... anyway 2 days ago my bullx grabbed a hold of my staffys head for no reason leaving her with a slight rip in her ear.. so i have kept them 2 apart and now i just walked in to the kitchen to hear a dog screaming outside so ive oppened the kennel door and by the looks of it my bull x has chinned my greyhound bitch she has got a tooth hole in her lip, nose, back foot and leg and all holes were bleeding but up untill now there has been no problem with them 2 thats why they were together... and going back about 2 weeks ago my staffy and my bull x were both in season and kept on trying to mount each other now the staffy is out of season and this has started. so anyway my lurcher is in the house now rubbing her self off the walls and stuff and is very restless she will walk about then lie down 10 seconds later she is up again and so on anyone got any idea whats going on in her head Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
The fact that the Bull cross has been mated has automatically raised her status within the pack. If she was not a top dog before, well, she is now, especially if she has taken and is in whelp. If she wasn't top dog before being mated the stress of being in whelp (in the wild only the top bitches are allowed to have pups) will have also made her very wary/aggressive/nervous aroung the other bitches, if you see what I mean: it's like she's been promoted beyond what she feels comfortable with. It could of course just be that she is putting the others in their places and letting them know who is now the Queen of all she surveys LOL. Hormones and pregnancy problems are just as common within dogs as in humans! Treat her with firmness but respect and keep her separated from the other bitches, and be patient if she behaves oddly!
