??? Oh well, what ever That means; I've gone for the very bottom block of text - Not the Zip, the lowest one. I've installed it and am now making my umpteenth attempt today at getting AVG. That's DLing as we speak. 35MB ? It'll take me a good hour or three. I think we'd all might as well stand down and get on with our lives for now. It'll come through or it won't. But I'm damn hopefull this time! :D

Extremely grateful for all ye help and infinate patience! Let's see what tomorrow brings :good:

Mheanwhile; A nice new HDD is high on my list! All this shit would be straight out the window with a fresh install to a clean disc. I'd be back to running my machine as I'm used to ;)

Thanks again :)

Having had similar problems, Ditch, there is only one guaranteed cure that I will recommend.

Complete Re-Install.

Windows Firewall and AVG are ample protection but a pop-up blocker is a must as this is how a lot of the shit gets on in the first place.

Also I use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and it has customisable options that have ad blockers and all sorts of stuff. Following that process and not opening any pop-ups has seen me drop from monthly to annual maintenance.
