Guest Ditch_Shitter
??? Oh well, what ever That means; I've gone for the very bottom block of text - Not the Zip, the lowest one. I've installed it and am now making my umpteenth attempt today at getting AVG. That's DLing as we speak. 35MB ? It'll take me a good hour or three. I think we'd all might as well stand down and get on with our lives for now. It'll come through or it won't. But I'm damn hopefull this time! Extremely grateful for all ye help and infinate patience! Let's see what tomorrow brings Mheanwhile; A nice new HDD is high on my list! All this shit would be straight out the window with a fresh install to a clean disc. I'd be back to running my machine as I'm used to Thanks again
ChrisJones 7,975
Having had similar problems, Ditch, there is only one guaranteed cure that I will recommend. Complete Re-Install. Windows Firewall and AVG are ample protection but a pop-up blocker is a must as this is how a lot of the shit gets on in the first place. Also I use Mozilla Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and it has customisable options that have ad blockers and all sorts of stuff. Following that process and not opening any pop-ups has seen me drop from monthly to annual maintenance.
