Magpie 102
Goes with the territory fella, thats what Collie crosses are all about, LOYALTY!. Why would you want it any other way. Obviously your dog has bonded with and want to be with you and please you as much as it can. Look at it as a bonus rather than a problem. You wouldn't want a dog that couldn't give a shit whether you're there or not would you. Quote Link to post

scaff 0
does bush up and works with the terriers while out but sometime s walks behind me, not to heel, want the dog in front to work and so i can see him Quote Link to post
Ossie 11
i really wouldn't complain about him walking behind, it shows that dog has huge respect for you! my bugger will walk ahead of me, he spots stuff & is gone before i can do anything about it, whether i want him to run or not. if your dog is behind you it makes it so much easier to choose what you'll let him run on, you're in charge not the dog, and that's the way it should be. i'd kill for a dog like yours! spookster 0
Having had collies and having had salukis, the clingy watching your every move, asking first before doing anything is a collie thing. Using their own mind is a saluki thing. I find the collie thing a bit annoying. I prefer my dogs not to look at me for the ok for everything. Just giving the two extremes saluki and collies I can understand how it can be a bit annoying! Quote Link to post

Just giving the two extremes saluki and collies I can understand how it can be a bit annoying! mine is a saluki x collie/greyhound, he tends to get off ahead unless i really keep on top of him, but if i stand still, or he's feeling a bit under the weather, he leans on me & won't let me move! odd dog...
