bullcross1 10
a think most people know tyson wasnt the fighter he used to be when he fought holyfield. a think any body who steps in to the ring at any level deserve respect, and all the accusations, of him being a pervert, well are they a 100 % true. jasper65 6
same old accusations!! nothing proved.... Anyone in the limelight like this guy was is going to be constantly taken apart by so called friends and press, the poor f****r couldn't scratch his arse without being photgraphed. It seem's when you hit celebrity status or stardom there'll always be someone about when you hit the big time to throw a knife in your back .... Jasper
trader 0
I know there are a good few anti Tyson guys out there but you have to give this guy some credit for what he acheived when he was so young. He was the youngest ever world champion and admitidly lost it through his private life and other mental Demons! but in his day he was explosive and set the Heavyweight division on fire when it needed it!! boy does this division need a guy like him again these days .... This is a cracking compilation on the guy Jasper the whole world had heard of tyson, people whom never watched boxing had heard of tyson , children where named after him, dogs were named tyson etc never since ali had so many people heard of a boxer fact

jasper65 6
He is a self confessed old grannie mugger Jasp.... No doubt about it mate you're right the guy had a pretty sordid past, but alot of fighters going way back have had their demons ! I'll give him his Doo's though he never shirked it and took it on the chin, in the clip he even seems to admit alot of his downfalls but I have to credit him for what he did in the ring from a young lad to being the youngest ever winning the world title, the guy deserves much credit for not only acheiving what he did but also for setting fire to the heavyweight division when it was needed.... I would love another to come around and reignite the division again.... Jasper
gnasher16 30,024
Personally i think we all get too involved in judging tysons private life rather than what he became famous for...boxing !...im no counsellor or psycho therapist but i do believe i know a little about boxing and prefer to judge a man on what he does inside the ropes rather than outside...if he couldnt hack it as a top sportsman for whatever reason then so be it,but dont give him it as an excuse.....it seems the tyson nuthuggers always want to rub his belly about the hard times he faced and then brush the fact that he was a child molesting rapist ( possibly ) under the carpet.....if you do want to judge his private life then judge all of it not just the bits that give him excuses ! Just a quick little story that may be of interest to some....i once had the fortune in being in a conversation with emmanuel steward,a very good and respected american trainer...he was telling a few of us about how tyson had phoned him begging steward to train him for 3 comeback fights he had lined up.....and that he told tyson he could never train a man he felt had no fighting heart !....he laughing said had it not been a phone conversation he may have rephrased his words..... but that was the feelings of somebody at the heart of the sport at top level...as it turned out tyson did end up with another great trainer in freddie roach who still couldnt do anything with him....but thats another story. Guest oldskool
cus d'mato said he see's a kid with a spark and he feeds it till it becomes a flame then he feeds the flame until it becomes a raging inferno... tyson lost his inferno and then eventually lost his spark like many other fighters and once its gone there is no getting it back... his last fight with the clonis fella ended poorly and apparently he came back to his corner after the first round and said "i cant win"... FJager 0
he didnt have half the problems ali had,yet did you see ali biting peoples ears off because he couldnt beat them ?.... Did you see Tyson bashing his wives, I could be wrong but evidently Ali was an absolute prick of a husband! He was also a draft dodger, but that was OK was it because he was Ali, to f#cking scared to fight for his country, THAT is a cur. Lets just concentrate on what the original post was about and that was that Iron Mike was a brilliant athlete in his prime.
