Four wheel drives

Recommended Posts

saluki man we walked for ten yrs hunting hares roe rabbits as boys in the early eighties it gives you a good grounding etc we never had cars and the police would have been on top of you then , a car is a good tool but if you are niave to the plod bailifes keepers easy way to get caught etc , i prefer walking but i hate haveing to park were im not happy , its part of the game and i hope it never changes , localy mostly arable corn wheat so plenty stubble to drive walk and well ,on stubble you never get big numbers localy but if you go place to place the numbers soon add up , then once there ploughed you have to walk and walk some nites unless you no the game all the best , i was maybe a bit harsh to but dont need people saying people who drive stubbles etc should play with comps etc when some nites ive flushed 5 roe maybe 6 or seven hares if walking maybe only half of that , all the best localy we have had the cowboys driving winter wheat assholes and they deserve all the get 4 got caught but could be just alie to make rthem feel good etc keepers etc

i am not lamping massive areas like some so i have no need for a 4x4. i dont think i would use one any way i like moving on foot, bieng quiet and getting as close as i can in stelth is what it is all about for me.

just me, the dog and the quarry thats an art form. field craft is bieng replaced by technology and skills are bieng lost.

i think that the new generation of hunters(including me) need that education.

this is only my opinon, not right not wrong just the way i choose to conduct myself

if you had a night out with me i would like to see you carry the game caught on these big farms,if its 30 rabbits are roe deer how would you get them back to the car????????????especally when youre 5 miles from a car are road??????????????????dont get me wrong walking in my book is better but i very doubt theres many lads on here who have dogs that will work of slip from a 4x4 window and know how to conduct themselves well :yes: know when to stop when the rabbit runs under the landrover and of coarse be fit and i mean ripped fit :laugh: a dog doing 7 are 8 miles and catching around 25 rabbits as well cause these dogs run at the side of the landrover in the night, mark

mark ive had dogs done that for nigh on twenty yrs but i must admit ive burnt a few out early on sore muscles not enough stamina , thats why i got the saluks etc and there types ,had a few people out who had to carry dogs home , normaly you can see when a dogs tired etc and well hees finished for the nite , done a lot on one farm down then borders 3500 acres we drove to each feild, lamped moved on had some great laughs over set a side catching all sorts localy its not rabbs as much and a bit more hairy but still good fun , ye cornwall sounds good fun , i some times give mines electrolyets on big nites , and keep in check with them, had some [bANNED TEXT] mental nites sitting away back in feilds and bluelights flashing the ole scanner and feching laughing my head of your lucky you have a fair bit of permiss good on ya , localy only the saluk types well bred etc last the nite on roe hares , the collie line i keep do it but have to be fit and in there prime the saluks run withn there selves and well they have diff muscule structure etc all i allonly had two collie crosses that kept on goinn with the saluks but were kinda gettting feched at 4 to5 yrs , but had great sport withthem ,i walk alot from nov onwards but no the land well so its not to hard all the best

i agree whin and like you nov time i walk a lot but this time of yr the game is more alert are should i say around feburary after being run alot and i find the landrover very effective all through summer i work the dogs no were near as much as winter but they still work and i think driving the land is very effective and productive and thats what the farmers want from me but no way you could carry the stuff i catch, mark

God theres some mad fuckers on here, nothing like blowing your own trumpet is there... ... I'd say there pro's and con's to walking and driving, I drive mainly because I have to cover a lot of ground, from start to end of the night we don't really get out of the vehicle unless its to get whats caught/shot but given the choice I'd rather walk if I was only visiting one piece of land or farm...

symbuea maybe you should stay at home and feching play computers you feching niave prick , or better still stick to catching rabbits and well ive got nephews and my self who can catch rabbs its not rocket sceince ,this is what comps are bad for uneducated prats ,when we were harvesting game ie selling it for cion we drove stubble after stubble if nessasary caught double figures flushing roe and hares in a week would never have got half odf what we caught if we wa;lked as i cant walk 20 to 100 miles a nite , plus youre in and outl no trailing about parking cars etc you drive in to the 100 acre feild or 60 acres feild the dogs are out bang number one roe or hares onto the next but we only drive stubbles plus a good stubble feild is handy to hide the car up out of prying eyes you naive dinlo or hind , i wouldnt preach what you no fech all about mate ive flushed legaly useing car and walking top end of 160 roe and 280 hares in a season , once the stubbles are ploughed well its shanks es pony ie walk and i love a walk , it shows [bANNED TEXT] expierences in hunting all sorts of qaurry , dont kcock what you dont no and always remeber diff land diff strokes

You must be king of the hunters then........

WELL LADS ,

ROUND THESE PARTS ITS CAUSED A WHOLE LOT OF TROUBLE ,

DAFT PRICKS SKIDING ROUND FIELDS OF STRAWBERRYS ETC , SMASHING UP MOTORS ON DYKES THEN SETTING FIRE TO THEM  ........ NO STUBBLE ONLY FOR THESE PRICKS WHIN !...........

THE FARMERS ARE SICK . THE KEEPERS ARE ON RED ALERT AND THE POLICE ARE PULLING MOTORS ALL THE TIME IN CERTAIN AREAS , MOST OF THE IDIOTS ARE DYKESHITTERS SO NO WONDER ,

NOW THEN ........... I HAVE DONE PLENTY OF TIMES AND PROBABLY WILL LAMP FROM A MOTOR AGAIN IN THE FUTURE ... BUT LIKE MOST THINGS THE COWBOYS ARE SPOILING THE JOB ........... NO WONDER DECENT LADS HAVE FECK ALL TO DO WITH HALF THESE PRICKS ! ,

ALL THE BEST

DUCKWING

:drink:

You hit the nail on the head, have the same problem here in Ireland,

The usual story a few GOMBEENS ruin it for the rest of us.Dont agree with driving unless absolutly nessacery, if the only reason being alot of land to cover why not call in some help from some local like minded lads who would be only to happy to get a few acres to hunt day or night.
