villefranche de queyran mate, near casteljaloux in the garonne mate.going to the med first ,then to this place then onto marennes on the atlantic coast.got to keep allthe family happy so a mixture of sites but the one i mentioned is just in middle of big forest.its magic and so is the fishing.the last one is next to some large marshes they say with loads of wildlife so we will have a mooch around no doubt.

Years ago my brother was night fishing in the fens, he went to throw some groundbait in and as he reached to his bucket it had grown a fur coat :hmm: . When he looked it was a fat coypu munching on the sweetcorn :o . He grabbed a bankstick gave it a few cracks across the head. He didnt stay till morning as he hates rats and these looked like rats on steroids.

Good on ya' FISH & the bitch.

I reckon there must still be a few around the fenns :secret:

Got 4 on Friday (not on the fenns). This one in the pic (biggest of the afternoon) we got with a jagd, 2 fox terriers had overlooked this one but them jagds have a good nose on 'em. The entrance was under water in the shallows of a pond only 4 or 5 inches deep, and he was about a metre and a half up the tube.

& one from a few weeks ago in the overflow of a pond.

i worked in south lopham near dis in 1976 and there were loads of them on redgrave fen, used to catch them with a whippet, they're pretty slow though, don't take alot of catching :D

flippin' eck, Lopham? that's not far from where i am. wouldn't mind seeing a coypu round here, just for the novelty factor. it was my great aunts father's fur farm in Mulbarton where they first escaped from. i've got a book somewhere with a photo of him bathing one in a tin bucket!
