Andrea 2
my youngester has just started her first season and like a previous bitch, i intended to keep her in for the full three weeks, but she's getting somewhat hyper without any real exercise, I’ve been told that she can go out now since she’s reached her 3rd week, question is, is this safe since she hasn’t got into a proper, predictable cycle yet??? Is there any likelyhood of her getting sproged up ????? Thanks Andrea
Guest longslip
I give mine 4 weeks to make sure.First 3 weeks they kept on the lead and the 4th week they get off somewhere safe with other bitches only.Maybe i'm a bit over cautious but that extra week is worth it compared to a litter of unwanted pups.I've found with my bitches after the third week they won't let a dog near their back end anyway.Never heard of a successful mating after the bitches third week but i dare say its happened sometime/someplace. Well she started on the 28th Feb, so she's only half way through the 3rd week. Seems sensible to keep her back for an extra week. Thanks
