ferreting

Hi ya all!! is anyone still doing any ferreting?? i heard that you can ferret if theres an r in the month?? starting to see young!

hi mate,depends on the farmer really. in a perfect world ,we would rather leave them to breed,but the farmer wose crops there decimating may want you to clear them all year round.if you won,t do it no doubt someone else will......

Very true, we had to ferret throughout the summer last year, finished about the beginning of July, had a few weeks off and started again in early September, because the land we work is keepered and the bunnies eat the newly planted game crops. If we didnt do it they would just shoot them and we would lose our permission. We expected to have to dig to a lot last year but it wasnt too bad, that said I'd much rather leave them alone in an ideal world, but its too good permission to lose :)

The worst thing we found about ferreting in the summer was the bloody midges :cry:

normally get bags of around 20-30, like always theres always the days when you get less than 20

 

just heard the weather report for this weekend, supposed to be another wintery weekend :wallbash:

just keep fingers crossed it aint too wet
