Just a quick question if the ferret kills and stays with the rabbit locator or not you know you have a lay up ,

if the ferret kills and moves on quickly how the hell do you know if they have killed or not im not haveing that you dig down every time the ferret pauses for a second,so locator or not you're still going to leave dead rabbits, its just easyer to locate them with the ferret finder.sorry if im talking shit :icon_redface:

kiil the rabbit , etc , puntuations means fech all in the hunting game and if youve done as much as some of us in this short life we pass through you would no what your talking ABOUT AND I DONT MEAN JUST FERRETING, ferrets in general should work lose end of story , i would still work mines with collars or with out , had several days without collars and when i found my box ,collars, etc put them back on and dug five more the same day , there alot of dinlos on these channels who are niave to the game and should listen and learn to people who have done it for many years and are knowlegble

I dont know how to take that post (WHIN) it look's like you are having a dig at me which i hope you are not mate..

i dont use a locator if i get a lay up i just give the hole a nock with a sitck and the ferret come's out after a while but ive had abit of luck this year no lay up's one or two rabbit's what has took abit of time to come out but thay come out in the end

What would you do if your ferret was bottled up on the wrong side of 3 or 4 rabbits and could not get out. :hmm:

fech you and your line ferret i like them loose like my dog i wouldnt have an animal that wasnt free to hunt tried line ferrets as kids useless etc saw ferrets get stuck with lines etc just no good locat or as free as a bird

Woah! Punctuation phobia? You might want to try and include at least some in your post if you want it to be readable.

good punctuation does not make a good hunter, and nobody likes a smartass :D

Puntuation does not make a good hunter, but it does make a good forumer. Legible posts are much more useful I'm sure you'll agree. If people can't be bothered to press several more keys in ther post then others probably can't be bothered trying to figure out what they are trying to say. No offence but its a ledgit point. :D:yes:

It might not be a case that the poster "can't be bothered" to press a few more keys,as you put it.Surely this forum is here to cater for everyone? Not just the handfull that have perfect grammer. :hmm:

After reading a few posts by both you [kill the rabbit] and whin it's plainly obvious who I'd learn the most from as regards the hunting game.

But just to make sure you're not left out, if my lad is struggling with his English homework I'll send you a PM. :D

tote very true and millet were was the dig intended dont no were you comeing from , i do work mines with out collars especailly when i misplaced mines for months but prefer collars on, but not fussed either way , mines move on once they are killed etc only ones or ferrets i wait for are the young ones who fech about but the genuine old ferrets i have left well in they go rabbits out or killed , i watch my dogs they no were the rabbit is and what holes the niose is comeing from , if they are not out in twenty mins i gut a rabbit blow the smell down the hole they usaly come up to check what the fresh smell is , ferreting is not rocket sceince , but can only be learned with being out at it , back to the original post putting lines on ferrets is a useless as a choclate fire guard , and being aprrensive of working ferrets without bleepers etc , i would have missed half the season cause i couldnt find mines etc , but i still WORKED them ,my ferrets and never had losses maybe luck maybe expeirence and haveing faith in your knowledge and the animals you work cheers

I used a liner before locators came out,as did all other serious ferreters, if you had any idea on how a lined ferret was used, you would not make remarks like [useless has a choclate fire guard],I can assure you they were not.In the right hands a big old buck on a line was a real asset
