timjim 43
my daughter came home with homework about fox hunting today and i find some of the stuff they are teaching her very biased, there is even a list on there saying: WHAT YOU CAN DO 1.Never go to a fox hunt 2.show this fact sheet to your friends and family and use it in class debates 3.write to your local newspaperabout fox hunting 4.send a letter to your localmember of parliment (you can get their names and addresses at your local library ), ask them to write back to you saying how they feel about fox hunting and ask them what they are doing about it write about how you feel and why you think fox hunting is cruel % of people in britain are against fox hunting only 0.5% of lambs are killed by foxes this has made me very angry, they are being brainwashed in my eyes, this is something they should make their own mind up about what is goin on, this country sucks
mad al 146
I think I'd have been down the school over that
Missie 1
I left secondary school in '97 and as a treat our science teacher let us watch a LACS video. I asked if I could show the other side of the argument and let the class see a video from the countryside alliance and guess what the answer was... He threatened to get me chucked out of exams! Nice to see that teaching methods have changed. On any other subject the teachers have to keep their own politics out of the subject matter and the kids would be encouraged to form thier own opinions, why on earth is hunting any different! ade33uk 86
that is wrong mate . i dont think schools are aloud to do that ,they have to put the other side of the argument aswell . did she have another sheet with headings like what you can do support your local fox hunt show this fact sheet to your friends and family and use it in class debates write to your local newspaper about the fox hunting ban send a letter to your localmember of parliment (you can get their names and addresses at your local library ), ask them to write back to you saying how they intend to repeal the fox huntingban and ask them what they are doing about it. got no problem with open debate in schools but thats onesided biased nonsense . complain to the head , how old is your daughter . trappa 518
I think it will be a case of some passionate teachers will try to push their views on impressionable kids- either way, pro or anti. I personally would have been down there and found out why they were handing out literature. I did falconry talks at some schools , showing the birds and told the kids about birds of prey , hunting etc and teachers and kids were fascinated about it all, a level headed, rational approach works better than forcing views like your teacher is trying. Malt 379
I had a few teachers like that in the school I went to. My mate got detention for bringing a fox brush in! Should have seen the look on the face of that prat of an art teacher! He was shaking with rage & in tears. Typical left wing class warrior!
