Kay 3,709
just tryed that and it bit me straight away. Is it doing it when you go to pick it up & is the ferret generally struggling once you have got it securely , you know the sort of thing twisting its body & trying to latch on once you have the animal in your hands ? richie 1
all the ferrets i have ever brought home have been roughly 5 months old & alll had a habit of been nippy or aggressive when i first brought them back.. one of my hobs "ted" that i got last september would jump forward & try to bite me " got me a few times " & had a habit of hiding under his sleeping quarters. this went on for a few weeks untill he settled in. just now hes starting to get better with the nipping, but before he would really try to bite, probably due to been scared with the new surroundings. also this week one of my jills has just come into season, dunkin donuts aint in it !. i went to pick her up this morning & out of the blue she took a hard nip at my finger, pulled it away just in time. you just have to be persistant & patient.. Kay 3,709
So its biting & backing off then rather than latching on & hanging on for dear life Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
My grandad said, if a bugger bites, BITE IT BACK!!!! If it carries on..........shoot it! Id say give it loads of gentle attention, and stroke it while it eats or drinks something, that will get it used to you, ........but if it carries on, THEN SHOOT IT!!!! OJ Quote Link to post
